Our range of pipe fittings is designed to be permanently welded to pipe ends, ensuring a secure and leak-free connection. These fittings find widespread application in fluid and gas transfer systems across various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, and food processing. BU-Lok's butt weld pipe fittings are crafted from a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.

What are Butt weld pipe fittings?

Butt weld pipe fittings are a type of pipe fitting designed to be welded directly to the ends of pipes, creating a permanent and leak-proof connection. These fittings are widely used in various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, food processing, and more, where the integrity of the piping system is crucial.

It involves heating the ends of the pipes and the fittings to be joined and then pressing them together. As they cool, the heated ends fuse together, creating a strong and seamless connection. Some common types of butt weld pipe fittings include elbows, tees, reducers, caps, and stub ends. These fittings come in various sizes, materials (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel), and configurations to suit the specific needs of different piping systems.

Standards of Butt Weld Fittings:

BU-LOK, is a renowned manufacturer of butt weld fittings with a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and safety standards. Our extensive range of butt weld fittings includes various types designed to meet the diverse needs of industries.

Our butt weld fittings adhere to industry-standard specifications, ensuring the highest level of quality and performance. These standards include:

- ASME B16.9: This widely recognized standard covers factory-made wrought steel butt-welding fittings, such as elbows, tees, reducers, caps, and crosses. It provides detailed specifications for materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, and testing.

- MSS SP-75: Focusing on high-strength, low-alloy steel butt-welding fittings, including elbows, tees, reducers, and caps, this standard is essential for high-pressure gas and oil transmission and distribution systems.

- ASTM A234: Our butt weld fittings conform to the ASTM A234 specification, covering wrought carbon steel and alloy steel fittings of seamless and welded construction for various piping applications.

- ASTM A403: For applications demanding wrought austenitic stainless steel fittings, our products meet the ASTM A403 standards, ensuring quality in piping and pressure vessel service.

- API 5L: In the oil and gas industry, our fittings comply with the API 5L standard, which includes requirements for line pipe, including butt-welding fittings.

What are Types of Butt Welded Fittings:

- Pipe Elbow: Used to change the direction of pipe flow, pipe elbows are available in 90°, 45°, or 180° angles, crafted from materials like stainless steel, carbon steel, and more.

- Pipe Tee: Designed for managing fluid direction and mixture, tee fittings come in two main types: Equal Tee and Unequal Tee (Reducing Tee).

- Pipe Cross: Ideal for complex piping systems, cross tees serve as 4-way pipe fittings, providing junctions for intersecting pipes.

- Pipe Reducer: These fittings connect pipes or tubes of different diameters, promoting fluid flow adaptation in a pipeline system.

- Pipe End Cap: Used to plug and seal the end of a pipe, end caps are available in various shapes and materials.

- Pipe Bends: Reducing the need for welding and fittings, pipe bends offer smoother fluid flow and improved structural integrity.

- Stub End Lap Joint: Used with lap joint flanges, stub ends are a practical choice for rotational applications.

- Split Tee: Suitable for various industries, split tees provide flexibility in managing pipeline connections.
